Regular greasing of your construction equipment is one of the easiest and most effective methods of keeping your machinery in top condition. Whatever your application, whatever your working conditions, Volvo has developed a comprehensive grease range to meet your needs, helping to keep your machine working at its best – for longer.
Your machine requires effective greasing for a number of important reasons. The primary function of grease is to lubricate the moving parts within your machine, reducing friction and wear. Furthermore, grease protects the machine from contamination, rust, and corrosion, and helps to reduce leakage.
At Volvo, we recognize the importance of high-quality grease, and our range of greases have been developed and tested to meet the specific needs of your machines and the applications they work in.
It is important to choose the right grease for your conditions. Whatever application you are working in, Volvo has a grease to suit your needs. For example:
If you are working in a wet environment, choose a grease which does not wash off as quickly and that will protect against rust. For example, Resistant Grease 97720 GR102
If you are working in heavy load applications, such as rock handling, choose a grease which is resistant to extreme pressure and which will not be squeezed out. For example, Extreme Grease 97765 GR103.
You will find more information on what grease to use and recommended greasing intervals for each particular machine in the operator’s manual. This information can also be found on the diagram of each machine.
A general-purpose lithium EP2 grease, providing solid protection against wear and rusting.
Suitable for use in multipurpose applications in plain bearings, bushings and pins, working under normal operating conditions.
This lithium complex grease offers excellent protection against rust and corrosion under conditions of extreme pressure and is resistant to water washout.
Suitable for use in wet operating environments, shock loading and extending greasing intervals.
A premium lithium moly complex grease ideal for working in severe conditions. It provides excellent extreme-pressure performance, anti-wear protection, exceptional staying power and is designed to work in the harshest of operating conditions.
Suitable for use in extra heavy-duty off-highway and mining applications, pivot pins and heavily loaded chassis components. It can also be used in automatic lubrication systems.
Designed for use in Volvo Asphalt Paverswhere a high service temperature range is required.
Suitable for use in high temperature systems for asphalt laying, in furnaces and foundries and roller bearing applications in continuous use up to 180oc.
Specifically developed to meet the needs of Hydraulic Breakers, which require protection from the continual shock-loading and extreme temperatures experienced during breaking operations.
Suitable for use over a wide operating temperature range, and automatic lubrication systems requiring a type-S cartridge.
