Wheeled performance

For better mobility and a top speed up to 30kmph, the EW65 four-wheel drive allows you to travel on and off road with front axle locking when working. Drive the machine easily between locations and access hard to reach job sites, saving time and getting to work without delay.

Parking, work and transport

Select from a choice of three work modes to ensure the optimum machine performance depending on the task at hand: parking mode, travel mode or working mode. Parking mode ensures optimal safety when it parking position, while travel model controls engine speed via travel pedal stroke for low fuel consumption and noise. When at work, select work mode for full hydraulic power for normal working operations, with adjustable engine RPM.

A more comfortable and productive operator

Featuring a new 8” high-definition touchscreen interface, inherited from larger Volvo Excavators, operators can now control all essential machine functions from the convenience of the display. The easy-to-use menu intuitively guides operators through key machine functions including attachment pre-set and selection, rear and side camera view, mobile phone Bluetooth pairing, and serviceability interval adjustments.

New levels of comfort

Comfort is taken to new heights in the EW65 with a wealth of updates to continue the proud Volvo tradition of providing operators with class-leading in-cab environments. The new suspended seat – including optional 3-point seatbelt and air suspension – features new, wider adjustable arm rests which can be moved up or down to suit the operator’s size and preference. Comfort and convenience

New, conveniently located in-cab storage – including cupholder, document holder, phone holder and glove compartment – add further comfort and convenience to the EC65 in-cab experience. Operators also benefit from a USB socket to charge their smart devices and can also connect their phone to the in-cab display.

Dozer blade control

The EW65 is designed for easy operation with a larger right-hand console enabling the dozer blade lever to be positioned on the right-hand side. The result is improved dozer blade control, featuring integrated high speed travel function and floating mode buttons, allowing the operator to stay in control without moving their right hand from the lever, boosting comfort and efficiency. This is complemented by a new optional electric dozer blade roll switch on the left-hand joystick.

Work harder for longer

With a wide opening hood, servicing is quick and easy with the EW65. Allowing safe and easy access, all service check points are located under the wide-opening engine hood and are accessed from ground level. Grouped filters ensure regular maintenance is straightforward, helping to maximize uptime.

Longer service intervals

Long service intervals give uptime a boost in the EW65 with DPF cleaning now required only every 8000 hours. Hydraulic return filter changes are also every 1500 hours – 3 times longer than the previous generation – as well as 3000-hour suction filter interval and 6000-hour long life oil interval, an increase of 50% and 20% respectively compared to the previous generation.

Work for longer

Fuel tank capacity has been increased to 120 litres (14% more compared to previous generation) reducing the number of stops and letting you work for longer between refills.
