The modern, productive and reliable Volvo ECR90 delivers the sort of capabilities more commonly found in a 10-tonne+ machine, wrapped up in a compact 9-tonne short swing excavator. The ECR90 delivers more power where it counts, letting you tackle tough jobs with ease, and continue working when combining several movements and carrying heavy attachments. 11% more arm digging force, 13% more bucket force and 7% greater lifting capacity make this a machine ready to deliver outstanding results across a range of jobsites. With 136 l/min hydraulic flow for attachments/accessories (15% more than the previous generation), the ECR90 can now handle the most powerful attachments.

Modern and well-designed operator environment

The ECR90 is a 9-tonne machine that boasts all the space and comfort you’d expect from a 10+ tonne machine. The 30% larger cab provides operators with more legroom and comfort along with a host of enhancements, including new display and controls – helping to keep operators fresh and performing at their best throughout the working day. New, conveniently located in-cab storage – including cupholder, document holder, phone holder and glove compartment – add further comfort and convenience to the ECR90 in-cab experience. Operators also benefit from a USB socket to charge their smart devices and can also connect their phone to the in-cab display. Operators can enter and exit the cab with safety and ease thanks to the large door.

New intuitive display

Featuring a new 8” high-definition touchscreen interface, inherited from larger Volvo Excavators, operators can now control all essential machine functions from the convenience of the display. The easy-to-use menu intuitively guides operators through key machine functions including attachment pre-set and selection, rear and side camera view, mobile phone Bluetooth pairing, and serviceability interval adjustments.

New levels of comfort

Comfort is taken to new heights in the ECR90 with a wealth of updates which continue the proud Volvo tradition of providing operators with class-leading in-cab environments. The new sliding seat – including optional 3-point seatbelt – features new, wider adjustable arm rests which can be moved up or down to suit the operator’s size and preference. Additionally, a new tiltable left-hand console facilitates easy machine entry and exit.

Dozer blade control

The ECR90 is designed for easy operation with a larger right-hand console enabling the dozer blade lever to be positioned on the right-hand side. The result is improved dozer blade control, featuring integrated high speed travel function and floating mode buttons, allowing the operator to stay in control without moving their right hand from the lever, boosting comfort and efficiency. This is complemented by a new optional electric dozer blade roll switch on the left-hand joystick.

The perfect temperature

With 18% more air-conditioning performance and optional cooling/heating function integrated into the seat, operators can stay temperate and comfortable whatever climate they are working in. In-cab climate control is easily adjusted using the rotary switch on the left-hand side.

Work harder for longer

With new wide opening hoods, servicing has never been easier in the ECR90. Allowing safe and easy access, all service check points are located under the wide-opening engine hood and are accessed from ground level. Grouped filters ensure regular maintenance is straightforward, helping to maximize uptime.

Longer service intervals

Long service intervals give uptime a boost in the ECR90 with DPF cleaning now required only every 8000 hours (up from 6000 compared to the previous generation). Hydraulic return filter changes are also every 1500 hours – 3 times longer than the previous generation – as well as 3000-hour suction filter interval and 6000-hour long life oil interval, an increase of 50% and 20% respectively compared to the previous generation.

Work for longer

Fuel tank capacity has been increased to 130 litres (18% more compared to previous generation) reducing the number of stops and letting you work for longer between refills.
