A year of launches begins with new generation excavators

Starting at our iconic Volvo Days event in May - we’ve unveiled eight new generation
excavators: the Volvo EC500, EC400, EC230, ECR145, EC210, EC260, EC300 and EC360. As well as a more spacious and ergonomic environment for operators, these models have cutting-edge new tech to help customers get even more out of their machines. Like an electro-hydraulic system for smoother, more precise digging and loading, and an improved human machine interface (HMI).

Hybrid options have also been added to our new generation of excavators, starting with the EC400 and EC500 models. With a 17% increase in fuel efficiency and a 15% reduction in CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption, these models are not only more productive but also more environmentally responsible. And there are more to come!

A new generation of articulated haulers including the new A50

We introduced our new generation articulated haulers, featuring seven revamped models, along with an exciting new addition, a 45-ton A50 class. By listening to our customers, we’ve filled a crucial gap in the market for a Volvo machine of this size. Innovative features like Terrain Memory and Volvo Dynamic Drive ensure superb fuel efficiency, safety, and comfort, even in the most challenging environments across quarrying, mining, and construction. And our new software architecture allows customers to stay at the forefront of technology with future upgrades and smart solutions.

Our electric machine range continues to grow

Our dedication to industry decarbonization continues with the expansion of our electric machine range, providing our customers with more options to help them make the transition. Notably, we’ve introduced a brand-new electric range for an entirely new segment with our A30 Electric and A40 Electric articulated haulers – the world’s first battery-powered articulated haulers in their size class. These models offer diesel-equivalent power and performance with zero exhaust emissions and reduced noise levels, for sectors such as quarrying, mining, and construction. 

Further new models in our lineup include the L120 Electric and L90 Electric wheel loaders and the EWR150 Electric wheeled excavator. We’ve also enhanced existing models, including the ECR25 Electric compact excavator, L20 Electric and L25 Electric compact wheel loaders, and the EC230 Electric mid-size excavator. And we’ve upgraded our PU500 mobile Power Unit.

Upgraded demolition excavators and expanded rigid hauler range

For our demolition customers, we introduced the new generation EC400 High Reach and EC500 High Reach excavators, alongside the 40-ton EC400 Straight Boom and 30-ton EC300 Straight Boom models. These machines, featuring new-generation updates, are designed to offer even greater reach, strength, and stability to tackle the most demanding demolition tasks.

For our quarrying and light mining customers, we’ve broadened our rigid hauler range with the addition of a new 55-ton payload R60 and 65-ton R70, complementing our formidable 95-ton R100. These new size classes provide more production options to meet specific customer needs.

Enhancements to our growing suite of services and solutions

Our product portfolio updates extend beyond our machines, with new services and solutions. These include Site Optimization, a new consultancy service, Site Operations, a brand-agnostic digital solution for tracking all machines on the jobsite, and the MyEquipment app, a user-friendly web application to help operators track and manage the status of their electric machine.

We’ve also updated our Dig Assist portfolio with Lift Assist, Operator Training, TopCon 3D Machine Control integration and Attachment Detection, and introduced a new Load Ticket solution to streamline invoicing for wheel loader operators. Our services and solutions help customers achieve productivity, safety, sustainability, uptime, fuel efficiency, and cost-saving improvements.
