New Volvo multi demolition boom delivers faster return on investment

The new multi demolition boom for Volvo EC380E HR excavators enables customers to maximise machine utilisation and get more out of their machine. In the straight position, the multi demolition boom provides an industry-best tool weight capacity of 4.3t at 15.2m – still with a 360º working range. This means that customers can use heavier tools with their demolition digging boom set at a height of up to four storeys.

What is also exciting about this new boom is that it can be configured for double bending. This greater flexibility means that operators can work deeper and closer to the machine underground at a depth of -10m with tool.

The multi demolition boom fits to the patented Volvo modular joint system, using a hydraulic full pin connection mechanism to ensure a rigid connection between the base machine and the digging boom or high-reach boom. The operator can change the position of the boom from straight to bent from the comfort of the cab within a matter of minutes.

"Demolition is an important segment to Volvo CE and we committed to developing our offer in this area," Lam says. The multi demolition boom is available on new machines in Europe and as a kit mounted on its own cradle for Volvo customers who already have an EC380E HR excavator in their fleet.
