In 2007 Volvo Construction Equipment announced the development of a new product class of pipelaying machines targeting, primarily, contractors in the on-shore oil and gas industry. Believed to be the most significant equipment innovation in this industry segment in nearly 80 years, the first prototype of the Volvo PL4611 and the Volvo PL4608 are now in the field with production availability to begin in the 2nd quarter of 2008.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has begun delivering the new E-Series articulated haulers featuring more power and more capacity. It will begin delivery of the new E-Series Articulated Hauler with Full Suspension (FS) in the second quarter of 2008. This is the world’s first hauler to offer a suspension system with automatic levelling and stability control on all wheels.
