Volvo Construction Equipment signs agreement with CeDe Group to offer specialized machines in Europe

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has signed an agreement with CeDe Group that will see a range of specialized machines made available for customers working in specific applications. The machines will be available through Volvo CE’s European distribution network.

The partnership agreement will enable Volvo CE to provide machines for customers that are part manufactured by Volvo CE and part manufactured by CeDe Group, a Swedish engineering company with headquarters in Malmö. The agreement will mean that Volvo CE customers will be able to order machines for specific applications such as rail-road machines, drilling and piling rigs, forestry bucket jibs, tunnelling machines and all-terrain forklift units.

The range of specialist machines will be made available through the Volvo Construction Equipment dealership network in Europe, commencing with the Nordic markets of Finland, Denmark and Norway.

Global Director of Business Development at Volvo CE, Esbjörn Fritzell, says: “The agreement with CeDe Group will enable Volvo CE to support a wider customer base with specialized machines, and it will enable us to grow our business into new areas. This is our first approved and signed partner; however we are looking into the possibility of extending this into other regions with other partners in the future.”

The agreement will see Volvo CE supply machines to CeDe Group who will then adapt them to specific market applications, tailored for the customers’ needs.

Nordic Sales and Marketing Manager for Volvo CE Europe, Magnus Rieger, says: “With the combination of CeDe’s quality workmanship and the strength of the Volvo CE products, we will be able to turn what are currently individual specialist machines into higher volume specialist machines. In the Nordic markets I see great scope for the rail-road machines and the tunnelling units – in both cases I believe there’s a big potential for development.”

CeDe Group’s CEO Göran Bredinger says the agreement is a key aspect of the company’s ambition to become the European leader in the production and development of machines for specialist applications. “We are extremely happy to sign this agreement with Volvo Construction Equipment. We believe that this partnership will allow us to fill certain gaps in market segments, which is good news for customers of both CeDe Group and Volvo CE.”
