Volvo Construction Equipment has signed an agreement with Grupo Auto Sueco Coimbra to take over the import, distribution and sale of its products in Turkey. The sale of Volvo CE’s dealership is part of an ambitious growth and investment plan for the country.
Grupo Auto Sueco Coimbra is one of Volvo Construction Equipment’s (Volvo CE) largest, most successful and longest standing dealers – currently responsible for distribution of the company’s products in Spain, Portugal and territories in North America, as well as distributing other Volvo Group company products. The agreement will strengthen Volvo CE’s presence across Turkey and covers the entire Volvo CE product range.
Volvo CE’s distribution to several CIS countries, which are at present governed from the Otomotiv Turk location, are not included in the deal with Auto Sueco Coimbra.
Ricardo Mieiro, CEO of Grupo Auto Sueco Coimbra comments: “This deal makes a clear statement regarding our long term commitment to the Turkish market. We see this as an opportunity to bring the benefits of Volvo’s products and services to customers across the country.”
Scott Hall, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Volvo CE comments: “This agreement marks a significant and exciting development for our activities in Turkey, one that gives us a clear and consistent presence across the country. Turkey is an important market for Volvo CE and Grupo Auto Sueco Coimbra’s successful track record, investment plans and energy give us great confidence in growing our share of this market.”
