180th-anniversary-edition Volvo Spirit app ready for download

The latest special history edition of Spirit, Volvo Construction Equipment’s company magazine, is now available to read online and on your iPad, celebrating almost two centuries of innovations and industry firsts.

To celebrate 180 years of history, a special history edition of Spirit is now available giving you exclusive, interactive news from Volvo Construction Equipment.

The latest edition of Spirit charts Volvo CE’s history from 1832 to present day and celebrate the innovations that have made world and industry-firsts. From producing the world’s first wheel loader with parallel linkage in 1954, to putting the world’s first truly low-emission engines for construction equipment into production in 1978, to becoming the first foreign company to invest in Korea in 1998…and the list goes on.

In a related feature, we visit the Munktell Museum in Eskilstuna, Sweden, to learn about Volvo CE’s illustrious past. And followingthe Volvo Ocean Race Miami stopover, Spirit visits a Florida-based customer with an interesting business.

The Spirit app now features a bookshelf – hosting all previous app editions of the magazine – as well as a one-off historical game for children.
