The Cambodian government has announced its 7th National Strategic Development Plan 2024–2028, which lays the foundation for Cambodia’s Vision 2050 and its efforts to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The plan includes investment in roads, water resources and irrigation systems, energy, and information and communication infrastructure to support the country’s continued economic development.
With infrastructure development creating demand for reliable construction equipment and support, Volvo CE and Que Mekong offer customers in Cambodia a range of wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, compactors, and electric construction machines.
Volvo CE has built a strong reputation in Cambodia for product quality and performance. Its new partnership with Que Mekong strengthens local service and aftermarket support, enabling customers to maximise machine uptime and productivity.
“At Volvo, we are committed to giving customers the support they need to get the most out of their machines,” said Wilson Shee, Head of Market Cambodia for Volvo CE. “This means not only delivering spare parts quickly and efficiently, but also training our technicians to provide on-site service and maintenance support, helping ensure that our customers’ machines are up and running when they need them.”
Local support for customers across Cambodia
Based in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, Que Mekong Co., Ltd is strategically positioned to support customers throughout the country, including rural areas, through on-site support and satellite branches where needed.
“Que Mekong is a Cambodian company with excellent knowledge of the local market, its customers, and the local language and culture,” said Gao Xiao Sheng, Chief Executive Officer of Que Mekong. “Que Mekong will grow from strength to strength, and we have every confidence that this partnership will not only serve Volvo CE customers but also allow us to play our part in nation-building and improving the livelihoods of the Cambodian people.”
Cambodia is a growing market for the construction equipment sector. The government’s development plan presents opportunities for Que Mekong and Volvo CE in areas including road construction and maintenance, as well as railway development. With tourism also growing, the government is looking to develop supporting infrastructure, including airport improvements, transport links, and hotel construction.
“Volvo CE’s extensive range of excavators, including electric models, is well suited to helping companies support the government’s ambitions for economic and infrastructure development towards Cambodia’s Vision 2050,” said Shee. “Our electric construction machines and solutions can also support Cambodia’s green growth ambitions and efforts to reduce emissions.”
The dealer inauguration and customer roadshow gave customers the opportunity to see Volvo CE’s next-generation excavators and compaction machines and learn more about the aftermarket support available through Que Mekong.
