In 1954, the company's successful wheel loader history was initiated with one of the world's first wheel loader with attachment bracket, the H-10. It was a rear-wheel steer machine based on a reversed tractor, powered by a three-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 35 hp and a five-speed mechanical gearbox.
The success created by this wheel loader and its successors paved way for intensified efforts to further develop the range of construction machinery.
Larger wheel loaders with articulated steering, a new type of lift arm system and comfortable cabs with high safety were introduced from the early 1970's.
Today, Volvo Construction Equipment is one of the world's leading producers of wheel loaders.
