Volvo took part in the Conexpo Russia exhibition

From September 15 to 18, 2008, Volvo took part in the international construction exhibition Conexpo Russia, which was held this year at Crocus Expo in Moscow.   The Conexpo exhibition has a long history. The first equipment exhibition that would later be called CONEXO took place in the U.S. in 1909. In the 1980s CONEXPO moved to Las Vegas, where it was combined with the CON/AGG exhibition, which also had its start in the 1900s.

The exhibition in Russia was organized by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers of North America together with OOO Exhibition and Marketing Center. Volvo is a member of Conexpo Russia management committee, which also includes representatives of such companies as JCB, Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Terex. Its purpose was to define the development strategy of the exhibition and pricing policy and to supervise preparation for the exhibition.

Volvo's stand, which was one of the largest at the exhibition, displayed Volvo construction and road building equipment and trucks. The focus was on equipment sales and service. Customers could consult with qualified specialists on buying new and used equipment, as well as obtain comprehensive information on all questions of spare parts and maintenance. There was a great deal of emphasis on the concept of a revolutionary hybrid loader with a diesel-electric drive system and the new Care Track telematics system. The company also presented a unique public demo show of compact equipment. What made it unique was not the size of the equipment but the fact that the operators were Volvo female employees. They handled the equipment with a mastery that drew admiration from even the most skeptical. The show was designed to demonstrate once again how easy it is to handle Volvo CE construction equipment. All the doubts about that were dispelled.
