Volvo Construction Equipment UK has been awarded full accreditation for its “high quality” Paver Applications training course by The National Skills Academy.
Volvo Construction Equipment has become one of the first industry suppliers to achieve National Skills Academy accreditation for its paver applications training course in the UK. The accreditation marks Volvo as a leading supplier of specialist and high quality training to the industry.
Volvo’s Road Institute training program provides contractors and industry bodies with quality training for their paving personnel. The training courses are designed to improve knowledge and understanding of paving techniques by means of classroom based theory and practical hands-on experience operating Volvo road equipment. The two and a half day course takes place at Volvo’s purpose built UK customer support centre in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, and can be tailored to suit individual contractors’ needs and levels of existing knowledge – from novices to experienced road crews, management and technical personnel.
Volvo has held six courses in the UK this year, which have received positive feedback from both course students and the companies sponsoring them.
Graham Crawshaw, from the MPQC (Mineral Products Qualification Council) and training auditor for Proskills, is delighted with the structure of Volvo’s training package. “I’m very happy with the course structure, the balance of the theory and practical elements and the way the information is being given,” he said. “There is a good deal of information and knowledge that must be imparted to ensure everything is covered and in particular all aspects relating to safety. Volvo’s instructors are doing this very well.”
