Through a number of competitive elements, the time had eventually come to announce who was the Volvo Masters 2014.
During the award ceremony dinner held in Eskilstuna the tension built until the results were finally announced: On third place came team Kuiken, Netherlands, second place Team Rudd Equipment USA and the title of Volvo Masters 2014 went to Volvo CE GB, England.
Volvo CE Masters 2013-2014 started in Q2-2013 and ended Thursday the 15th of May. The main goal with the competition is to increase the interest, knowledge and skills in relation to Volvo CE products amongst service and parts technicians, worldwide.
This year’s final, held in Eskilstuna, featured eight teams. Team Pt Intraco Penta Prima Servis, Indonesia, Team Vijay Engineering Equipment, India, Team Jiangsu Zhengdao CE, China, Team Jinan Tianye CM, China, Team Rudd Equipment USA, Team Tracbel S/A, Brazil, Team Kuiken N.V., Netherlands and Volvo CE GB, England.
Each team had already proven themselves to be worthy champions, having won through a series of local, national, sub-regional and regional finals. “The two best teams from each region competed in the global final and as expected it was a close race to become the Volvo Masters 2014. Out of initially 3000 participants in the first round, 24 parts & service technicians had qualified for the global final and all deserved to be honored” said Pål Torgersen, Director Global Competence Development at Global Marketing. The competition was tough all through the final and the excitement from the announced winning team Volvo CE GB was overwhelming.
The competing teams have been judged on a scale of performance wherein not only their technical and parts systems knowledge skills were evaluated, but also, judging of the proper handling of tools and demonstration of Volvo’s core values occurred.
