1927 – Trucks

Volvo's first truck chassis, delivered in 1927, were simple but rugged. Despite just 24 hp and low speed, it had sufficient power for all-round transports and was often used for local delivery in communities, e.g. for transporting beer. Sometimes they were used as fire engines in local operations where speed was not a top priority.

The second type of four-cylinder Volvo trucks was reliable and durable and became a major success. Many specimens have been preserved to this day.

In 1929, the first six-cylinder Volvo truck was developed.
