What is EaaS?

Fleet ownership brings uncontrollable risks: sudden repairs, aging equipment, unexpected downtime. EaaS transfers these risks to us while guaranteeing performance and uptime. Instead of buying machines, you purchase operating hours at a fixed rate. We manage the fleet and guarantee availability per your agreement.

How does it work?

We follow a straightforward three-step process:

  1. Assess your needs - analyze project requirements, machine types, hours and locations.
  2. Design your solution - create customized EaaS package with right fleet mix, guarantees and rates.
  3. Delivery and management - deploy fleet, handle maintenance and monitoring while you focus on projects.

What’s in it for me?

With EaaS you only pay for the hours you use – keeping costs aligned with revenue – and uptime, maintenance and repairs are included so there are no unexpected bills or end-of-life risks.
  • Right-sized fleet to secure production
  • Faster issue resolution via one interface
  • Less time on maintenance coordination and more time on output

  • Convert CAPEX to OPEX*; improved cash flow predictability
  • Long-term fixed hourly rates
  • Reduced risk on unscheduled repairs
  • No residual value or end-of-life disposal headaches
  • Complies with IFRS16 standards

  • 24/7 monitoring with ActiveCare
  • Scheduled service and repairs included
  • Option to add digital services like Connected Map for enhanced site visibility

Advanced technology

Equipment ownership means getting stuck with aging technology. EaaS eliminates this risk by allowing fleet updates during your contract term, so you always have access to current machine technology and efficiency improvements.

Flexibility

EaaS contracts focus on total machine hours, not contract duration. Whether you complete projects quickly with intensive use or extend timelines with lighter usage, you pay the same total cost based on actual productive hours worked. If you work more than expected, Volvo will even pay a rebate back for the additional hours used.

Global coverage

EaaS is available in markets across the globe where Volvo CE operates, ensuring consistent service and support wherever your business takes you.

Your questions answered

Equipment as a Service (EaaS) is a usage-based service in which you pay a fixed hourly rate for your contracted hours. We manage the fleet, maintenance and availability so you can focus on your core business. A typical EaaS agreement includes the following:
  • Guaranteed uptime – Contractual availability commitments tailored to your needs.
  • Maintenance – Scheduled service, repairs, and parts are included.
  • 24/7 monitoring – ActiveCare health monitoring helps prevent breakdowns before they happen.
  • Predictable costs – Fixed hourly rates with usage-based billing, with replacement of units during the contract at no extra cost.
  • Full warranty protection – Coverage for the entire contract term.
  • Dedicated support – Your personal contract manager handles everything.

Together with you, we define the right number of machines, services, and hours needed to secure your target production capacity and provide a customized hourly rate. Leasing and rentals require upfront purchases or fixed monthly rates, and they typically do not include uptime or availability guarantees. EaaS is different - it's a service, not a lease. It's not tied to specific serial numbers and ends when the agreed hours are consumed. Unlike traditional contracts that penalize overuse, EaaS rewards efficiency: if you complete projects faster than expected, Volvo pays you a rebate for the additional hours used. We retain ownership, handle all maintenance and repairs, and guarantee uptime as part of the service. Please contact your local Volvo CE dealer to ask about coverage in your market. EaaS is best suited for customers whose operations work in larger, predictable blocks of hours and where a fleet will run for years. EaaS complements owned/leased assets, enabling you to scale operational hours or fleet size as your projects evolve. Rental options may be a better fit for short-term or one-off machines.
