Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) again showcased its competitive edge in the resale market when it received two 2017 Highest Retained Value Awards from EquipmentWatch, a leading information database for the construction industry. After bringing home three top honors in the inaugural 2016 event, Volvo CE beat out its peers this time in two of the excavator categories.

“The Highest Retained Value Award is indicative of excellence across a manufacturing organization,” said Garrett Schemmel, vice president of EquipmentWatch. “Product quality has the most obvious impact on an asset’s performance on the secondary market, but residual values are also highly impacted by brand affinity and fair original pricing. A manufacturer must excel on all three fronts to gain recognition as a Highest Retained Value Award winner.”

In February, EquipmentWatch named the Volvo EC35 series and EC350 series as winners in the categories of mini excavators and medium-sized crawler excavators, respectively. EquipmentWatch recognized the EC35 series as “the epitome of a reliable compact excavator” and awarded the EC350 for its “ergonomic design with ideally placed controls and switches” that contributes to work efficiency and productivity.

“Volvo CE is honored to win these two 2017 Highest Retained Value Awards from EquipmentWatch. These awards validate our goal to deliver maximum value and quality in our equipment, which in turn leads to greater customer success,” said Ray Gallant, vice president of sales support at Volvo CE, Sales Region Americas.

Volvo CE products have received the award for two consecutive years. In 2016, the honor went to the SD45 single drum compactor, and the L220 and L90 series front end loaders. This year, heavy equipment from industry leading brands competed in 28 categories across the construction, agriculture and lift/access industries. To determine the winners, EquipmentWatch ranked machines by calculating five-year cumulative value, using the world’s largest sales transaction database.

The award ceremony took place on March 7, in conjunction with CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 in Las Vegas.
