Established in 1976 as a family business, Glosrose have successfully developed from a local supplier in Kent into a nationwide company, whilst still retaining the core family values that have been the foundation of their growth for many years.
Glosrose first started life trading out of founder, Tony Butcher’s, garage which is situated just a stone’s throw away from the Old Hill Farm site they currently occupy today. Tony started out as a salesman for a fork lift company but when the opportunity arose for him to buy some used fork lift trucks; he decided it was time to branch off and venture out on his own.
Based in Maidstone, Kent and very close to the M25, the site is easily accessible locally and has great links nationwide. The site includes a generous sized showroom and office block with an adjacent workshop that is fully equipped with a team of engineers. The workshop is used to carry out PDIs and to prep machines ready for hire but is also used to service machines and carry out repairs. Attached to the workshop is a parts store, which holds parts stock. Glosrose have a team of mobile engineers to support machines on-site and can order parts for collection or parts can be shipped out to the mobile engineers or customer sites as required.
Glosrose have a wealth of experience in the Mechanical Handling and Construction Equipment Industry and are proud of their outstanding reputation for Sales, Hire and Service. Their Construction Equipment division is able to provide; sales, service, parts and contract rental services. With a team of 25 engineers supported by a team of three service coordinators, Glosrose customers can be confident of a quick response and regular servicing. They have a large contract rental fleet and receive a high number of renewals which is testament to the service they provide.
The relationship with Volvo began in 1988 when Glosrose won a major contract with Kinsley Mill, a local paper mill. The mill needed forklifts to move around paper stock and paper rolls. Volvo L120 loading shovels were introduced into the recycling area of Kinsley Mill to help with waste management as part of a contract rental agreement through Glosrose.
Glosrose officially became a Volvo utility equipment dealer in 2012. In that time they have built up a positive relationship with various members of Volvo staff and regard the machines as reliable, quality products. Russ comments: “We have a great relationship with Volvo which is really important for being able to best serve our customers.”
With a reputation built on partnerships and relationships Glosrose fully understand the need for flexibility, quality service and having the right mix of equipment. Being able to make local decisions, Glosrose are able to tailor their services to each individual customer’s unique requirements.
