For the second time in four years, Você S/A and Exame magazines recognize Volvo as the best company to work for in Brazil.
Going up against more than 500 other Brazilian companies in a variety of sectors, Volvo has once again topped the list of the country’s best companies to work for.
The Guia 150 Melhores Empresas para Você Trabalhar (150 Best Companies to Work For Guide) is considered the most in-depth study of Brazilian work environments and is evaluated by Editora Abril, one of Latin America’s largest and most influential publishing groups.
In this year’s survey, Volvo Brazil stood out in each evaluated category, including career development, compensation and benefits, health, leadership, and corporate citizenship. The company received excellent scores from employees, which indicates a positive and upbeat mood throughout the company. The study also highlighted Volvo’s use of advanced management practices in all the reviewed categories. Besides being modern, these practices work effectively for all employees, because they are consistent and comprehensive.
With 3,900 employees, Volvo’s Brazilian operation, which includes Volvo Construction Equipment’s factory and sales office in Pederneiras and Curitiba, has been ranked among the top five best companies to work for in the Você S/A and Exame magazine survey every year since 2007, including another first-place ranking in 2008.
The 504 organizations ranked in this year’s survey underwent a strict selection process before being pre-classified and then sorted into the top 150.
"We are very proud to be honored once again as the best company to work for in Brazil," says Roger Alm, president of Volvo Brazil. "We have a very talented and fully committed team, and people are our biggest asset."
The guide highlighted the respectful way in which Volvo treats its employees. "Passion, energy and respect for people: this is Volvo's secret to being the best company to work for," continues Roger.
"This recognition is the result of a long history of investing in people, grounded in The Volvo Way," says HR Director of Volvo Brazil, Carlos Morassutti.
The guide has also graded Volvo's IFT (Happiness at Work Index) as 89.4. The IQAT (Work Environment Quality Index), which measures employee satisfaction with the company, is also very high at 87.5. The IQGP (People Management Quality Index), which evaluates management practices in companies, is 90.7.
