New Volvo attachments make excavators even more versatile

Excavators attachements
In order to improve the versatility and flexibility of its excavators, Volvo is introducing a new range of excavator attachments that are designed to perfectly match the technical and performance characteristics of Volvo machines. The range includes general-purpose and heavy-duty buckets for large excavators , a new line of hydraulic breakers for compact excavators, as well as attachments for German-speaking markets.

Volvo general-purpose and heavy-duty buckets for large excavators

No other bucket in the market is better suited to perform seamlessly with Volvo’s larger excavators than one from its new general-purpose and heavy-duty bucket ranges. Optimized for ground penetration and formed in high-tensile steel with wear plates for durability, these buckets are able to take on a wide range of jobs, applications and materials — from soft soil to shot rock. A new profile for the roof structure provides greater strength and durability.

The general-purpose range is ideal for digging and rehandling soft to medium materials — including dirt, loam, sand or loose clay (with limited rock content) to a material density of up to 1,800 kg/m3 — and comes in several direct-fit or quick coupler interfaces. They provide higher penetration force and improved geometry, offering better fill factor and material release. The heavy-duty buckets suit mining or quarrying applications and are ideal for digging in compact materials like loose or blasted rock – or hard-packed clay and gravel at a maximum material density of up to 2,100 kg/m3. They are optimized to resist the rigors of the toughest applications. A reinforced roof structure and wear strips cover more than 80% of the bottom area, and side-wear plates cover 50% of the sides — increasing wear life over general purpose buckets.

HB-Series hydraulic breakers for compact excavators

Volvo CE’s HB-Series hydraulic breakers for utility equipment are optimized to the specific weights of Volvo machines and tailored to Volvo quick couplers for swift, safe and simple attachment changes. Volvo CE’s HB02 to HB08 series of hydraulic breakers for compact machines under 10 tonnes range in operating weight from 129 (114) kg to 577 (510) kg and are durable enough for a wide range of applications, while providing consistent impact frequency and power for greater productivity.

HB breakers

Volvo’s new breakers are equipped with a cushion damper to reduce noise and vibration through the machine, for greater operator comfort and safety and less damage to the boom and arm. The HB08 can be adapted to suit the application using dual-speed control, while the HB07 and HB08 have anti-blank firing to prevent them from continuing to strike once the material has been completely penetrated

The versatile breaker range can also be adapted to any application with a variety of tools, including moils, chisels, compacting plates, blunts and spades. The new breakers can be purchased in a comprehensive all-in-one package, including hydraulic hoses, hydraulic quick couplings (in EMEA), breaker bracket and breaker tools, so they can go to work right away.

Attachments for compact excavators in German-speaking markets

To fit with Lehnhoff quick couplers on compact machines, Volvo has designed a full range of buckets and attachments for customers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.  These buckets and attachments are a perfect fit with old and current Volvo compact excavators. The line includes:

  • General-purpose buckets with Volvo teeth and bucket transport systems as standard and with optional side cutters (from 3.5- to 8-tonne compact excavators).
  • Fixed ditch-cleaning buckets with drain holes.
  • New tiltable ditch-cleaning buckets (45° angle, times two) with two standard hydraulic hoses and connectors.
  • New Volvo breakers: low noise with German-type brackets.

All Volvo attachments are backed by Volvo CE’s extensive service network, for the peace of mind that comes with an extensive, worldwide infrastructure of technicians, workshops and dealers.

Ends.
