About the training
The course is a mix of classroom and practical hands on training. Our instructors will give the participant(s) an initial presentation briefly describing the background to the importance of working with the environment in mind, and the role that Volvo takes in its contribution to environmental issues.
With the introductions over, it's time to assess the participant(s) operating their machine in the way that they normally work. This is scrutinised by the trainer and the average fuel consumption is measured and recorded.
Back in the classroom your instructors will present tips and suggestions to operate the machine in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way with supporting presentations and explanations.
Then it's back out to the machine and the participant(s) will then run the same work cycles as before but this time adopting the tips and suggestions offered by the trainer. Fuel consumption is measured again to see if there is any immediate improvement.
The training programme concludes with a discussion on how to adopt a new way of working and each participant must commit, in writing, at least THREE things to improve upon until the next assessment.
Follow up monitoring
Included in the training fee is a follow up assessment which will take place at your site six weeks from the date of the training. This will be done by a Volvo approved trainer but not necessarily the same trainer that undertook the initial training.
The participant(s) will be assessed to see to what extent any new working methods have been adopted as the norm. Most importantly, an accurate measurement of the machine's fuel consumption since the initial training is downloaded using the Volvo Matris machine tracking and information system.
The results from the Matris downloaded are then sent to the machine' s owner showing details of how the machine has been operated and most importantly - the savings in fuel and fuel consumption.
