Merger of Munktells Mekaniska Verkstads Aktiebolag and J & CG Bolinders Mekaniska Verkstads AB to form AB Bolinder-Munktell.

Europe's first combine harvester introduced.

AB Volvo acquired 100% of the company from the Swedish bank Handelsbanken.   

1954
The company introduced Sweden's first wheel loader in partnership with Br Lundberg, Skellefteå.

1960
AB Arvika-Thermaenius was acquired by the company.

1966
The world's first series produced articulated hauler was launched in partnership with Lihnells Vagn AB (Livab).

1973
The company changed its name to Volvo BM AB.
